Net Neutrality, the FCC, and the New Administration The trick with the United States government is, for better and worse, it changes pretty frequently. This can make continuity between administrations a little tricky at best. The past administration was pro-Net Neutrality, for instance. But more than that, they can change during their tenure. FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler really worried some people when he came in as a cable industry insider, and gradually changed to being a pro-consumer advocate. So, what will the next four years look like? And what can we do about things if we don’t like how they’re looking? Jonathan, LD, and Sam talk about that very subject! Ready for hour two? Click here!

AT&T, the FCC, and the New Administration We continue our talk about the change of administration and what this could mean for us. And, frankly, there’s a lot of question marks for a variety of subjects! For instance: we’ve seen Comcast and Time Warner attempt to merge only to call it off. Later, Time Warner and Charter merged. Was this good for consumers? Well, maybe not. But now? AT&T and DirectTV want to merge, and while the deal has been made it hasn’t been done. What do we know about how the upcoming administration feels about this? Will this benefit consumers? We talk about this and more in hour two! If you missed hour one, click here!

Don’t Necessarily Believe Your Ears… Anyone who has listened to the show knows we love new technology. Its exciting when you think of all the possibilities that open up to people! But, at the same time, you also know we sometimes dread new technology because people will also abuse it. Adobe demonstrated VoCo (Voice Conversation) that could be best described as “CGI for audio.” Much like computer graphics can make the impossible happen in a movie, VoCo can create and recreate a person’s voice with an interface that’s about as easy to use as Microsoft Word. What could go wrong? Ready for hour two? Click here!
